Welcome!
We would like to introduce ourselves!
Integrative Health Resources is a Marquette-based Michigan non-profit organization.
Our current board consists of 8 volunteers from our local community. We have enlisted several other non-board members who generously volunteer their time and efforts to help us provide our current services. It is an enormous, but very worthwhile and satisfying endeavor.
Our intention is to connect our community with our area holistic healthcare practitioners. Our future intentions are to sponsor regional or, nationally known, integrative medical doctors to speak on a variety of health options; to create a U.P. integrative practitioner directory (done); to create an IHR web site (done); and, ultimately, to assist in the creation of a comprehensive integrative wellness center in Marquette.
We have accomplished a great deal in this past year! We are growing and expanding in our ability to touch the lives of others in a very positive way! It is extremely exciting and exceptionally rewarding to be a part of this great adventure!
Our expectations are high! There is much more to accomplish!
We are actively seeking other like-minded individuals to join us on this magnificent journey!

Here is a list of our current services:
- Monthly Holistic Health Forums (Local speakers & practitioners present information and demos on alternative health related topics. The forums are held on the last Tuesday of the month, 7-9pm, in the community room at the Peter White Public Library.)
- A spring and fall Holistic Health Fair (Alternative healthcare practitioners & vendors offer booths with information, demos, wellness sessions, & free samples. The 2008 spring fair will be held Saturday, April 19th in the Great Lakes Rooms at Northern Michigan University). The Fall Holistic Health Fair will be held in November at the Holiday Inn in Marquette. (Date to be announced).
- Complimentary quarterly newsletter (Holistic health-related articles, recipes, practitioner services, & ads. Its distributed throughout our greater Marquette area.)
- IHR Memberships (Benefits of becoming an IHR member include: our quarterly newsletter mailed directly to your address, access to a comprehensive lending library, discount coupons from practitioners, reduced registration fees to our special events, referrals, discounts on Practitioner Directory listing and web site ad discounts.)
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer with our organization, wed love to hear from you! Do you have any extra time? Do you like to “surf the net?†Are you a leader? A speaker? A coordinator?
A do-er? A go-pher? An idea-person? We have volunteer opportunities in all areas including:
- Distributing posters and media information,
- Speaking at our forums,
- Media contacts,
- Writing newsletter articles,
- Organizing a holistic directory,
- Phone call inquiries,
- Researching on the web/printing out studies on integrative therapies,
- Stapling newsletter pages together,
- Helping on event nights,
